I lived for 10 days in the dream land...the Azores. I started a trip with a strong wish to visit what everybody calls "the paradise" and I think I touched it :-) I stayed in São Miguel, Terceira, Pico and Faial. You don't want to know how many days and nights I spent searching for the best offers, the best combination and the best sites-for a few weeks I believed that I was going to write a Phd thesis on the Azores-the archipelago has 9 islands so I had to choose only four for my trip-I didn't regret my choice and I am sure I wouldn't have regretted it if I had chosen other four islands.
São Miguel is the biggest one so for anybody who doesn't have enough time for the Azores, he can just go to São Miguel and come back home happy.
Terceira is more rural, it had though the charm of a nice trip in a bus, that I will tell you about later and the beauty of all those beautiful houses called "Impérios" which are houses dedicated to the Holly Spirit.
Pico was perfect - it stays in my heart as the best one - soooo clean, so perfect, so quiet and blissful. I found the best accommodation, I managed to burn my lips after three hours of chasing the whales and dolphins in the ocean and promised myself to climb the Pico mountain one day. And then comes
Faial that offered us the perfect free surprise - dolphins jumping and playing close to the boat with a joy that I never thought I could see in them.

São Miguel had a pretty crazy weather-grey sky in August!!! and pretty cold too. I was upset. We managed though to book some trips with Greenzone http://www.greenzoneazores.com/ and enjoyed beautiful jeep rides. Thank you Nuno and Eduardo for being our nice guides and telling us about chupa-chupa, the happy cows, the earthquakes, "furnas", tea, boats etc etc. I just loved every single moment of it. I discovered that people from São Miguel have a good relationship with Saint Peter with whom they talk in order to receive good weather so every time we started a gloomy day, after a conversation with Saint Peter we ended up with Sun, hot weather and amazing views. This is how we got to see Sete Cidades with no clouds-thank you Saint Peter :-)
